Ignatious Netto

Ignatious Netto, age 65, passed away peacefully on January 27, surrounded by his loved ones.

Ignatious was born on April 27, 1960 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, to Stella and Roland Netto. Though born in Malaysia, he spent much of his upbringing in Kerala, India, where his character and values were deeply shaped. In pursuit of higher education, Ignatious later came to the United States, where he earned his Master’s degree.

A devout Catholic, Ignatious lived his life guided by his faith. He held a special reverence for the Blessed Virgin Mary, finding comfort and strength in her throughout his life. 

Ignatious was known as a hardworking and straightforward man, with a sharp mind and a unique sense of humor that those close to him came to appreciate. As a successful entrepreneur, he managed multiple hotels and earned respect for his integrity and business acumen.

Family was at the heart of Ignatious’s life. He was a devoted husband and father who believed deeply in providing guidance, stability, and a strong moral foundation. In his free time, he enjoyed watching cricket, playing card games, reading Yahoo Finance, and traveling for pleasure.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley, and his three children, Andria, Ashwin, and Brianca, and his son-in-law, Joe, who will continue to carry forward his legacy.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff at Vanderbilt Medical Center for treating Ignatious with exceptional care, compassion, and dignity.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Scotts Funeral Home in Jeffersonville, Indiana from 3pm to 7pm. A church service will follow on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 10 am, at St. Anthony’s Church in Clarksville, Indiana.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may the Blessed Mother Mary watch over him as he enters his heavenly home.
