Jack was a great man who influenced everyone he met. You couldn't go anywhere with him without seeing a former student or someone that knew and loved him. He loved IU and history and Indiana. He loved traveling, learning, his family and God. He was the best husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa a family could ever want and he will be so greatly missed. Jack retired from 40 years of teaching from Jeffersonville High school and was a member of Eastside Christian Church and a member of Double H Square Dance Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Inez Hutslar.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 wonderful years, Marcia Hutslar. Also mourning their loss are his five children; Jim Hutslar, Julie Hutslar (Ed Hunt), Jan Hutslar, Jill Grismer (LeRoy), Jennifer Coward (Mark), his grandchildren; Sean Flores, Diana Hunt, Kayla Tronnier, Christopher McQueen, Kip McQueen, Maggie Fryerwood, Lukas Coward, Samuel Coward and Julia Coward; four great grandchildren; Elena, Jack, Declan and Eli; and many friends that are like family.
