James (Jim) Clay, 77, died February 25, 2020, in Concord, NC.
He was born 1942, to Vernal and Leona Clay in Perry County, KY.
Jim grew up in New Albany where he attended Hazelwood Junior High and New Albany High School.
He was married for 17 years to Teresita Ramos and remained close. They had four children.
He worked as a Chief Petty Officer and retired from the United States Navy where he served proudly for 27 years.
He was deeply loved and was the best father, grandfather, brother, uncle and son.
Jim is survived by his four children, Anna O'Hearon, Raquel Clay, James Clay, and Terrance Clay . Seven grandchildren, Anthony Santiago, Jordan Runfola, Alex Runfola, Brendan O'Hearon, Destiny Clay, Tiana Clay and Greyson Clay. One great-granddaughter, Katerina Santiago and his siblings, Vera Hoefer and Donald Clay.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 1 pm with Scott Funeral Home, Jeffersonville Indiana. Interment will follow at New Albany National Cemetery.
