James Hannon Obituary

James Edward “Jimmy” Hannon, age 50, passed away on May 13, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville, with his family by his side.

Jimmy was born on June 17, 1975, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to Don E. and Rebecca Hannon. He was a 1994 graduate of Jeffersonville High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Southeast.

Jimmy was a Labor Relations Contract Administrator for the Independent Pilots Association and had a distinguished 25-year career in the aviation industry, including his time at UPS as a Crew Scheduling Training Compliance and Standards Supervisor. He also proudly served on the Board of Directors for the Louisville Science Center, the Louisville Zoo, and the Salvation Army.

Above all else, Jimmy was most proud of being a husband and a father. His greatest joy in life was his daughter, Hadley, whom he loved endlessly and spoke of with immense pride. Whether through his guidance, support, humor, or unconditional love, he made sure she always knew how deeply cherished she was. Being her dad was the role he treasured most.

James was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Lynda Kite; and his sister-in-law, Angie Hannon.

He is survived by his loving wife, Trish Kite-Hannon; and his daughter, Hadley Hannon. He is also survived by his brothers: Tom Hannon (Sarah) of Sullivan, Indiana; Shaun Hannon (Jackie) of Jeffersonville, Indiana; and Bob Hannon (Stacy Austin) of Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Jimmy also leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Avery Leiser, Riley Leiser, Kate King (Hunter), Betsy Field (Dylan), Jake Hannon (Sarah), Sam Hannon (Kaylie), Morgan Hannon (Jordan Schultz), Madison Fisher (Nick). He is also survived by several great nieces and great nephews.

Jimmy will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his career, and his community, as well as the kindness and strength he shared with everyone who knew him.
