James "Jim" Grantz Obituary

Funeral services for James “Jim” Cadden Grantz, 71, of Clarksville, Indiana, will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10-1 PM and is open to close friends and family. He passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.  Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the funeral service at 1 PM will be private.  If you wish to view the funeral service at 1 PM on Tuesday, please click the window above the obituary for the livestream.

Jim was born on October 28, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late, Charles Urban and Betty Jean Grantz (Delzell). He graduated in 1968 from DeSales High School in Louisville, KY. He retired from Ford Truck Plant in Louisville and was a faithful member of Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany and he also bible studied on Saturdays.  He volunteered his time at Nursing Homes and used to be part of Big Brothers and Big Sisters.  Jim was an avid University of Louisville fan, enjoyed playing pickle ball, biking, and gardening. 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, John Floyd.   

He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Grantz; two daughters, Megan Grantz (David King), Emily Grantz; a grandson, Logan King; nine siblings, Butch Grantz (Linda), Michael Grantz, Carol Claussen (Gary), Mildred Lewis (Ken), Robert Grantz, William Grantz (Julie), Susan Grantz, John Grantz (Jackie), Steven Grantz (Leisa); mother-in-law, Grace Floyd; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

 
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
