Janice Joann Crowder

Janice Crowder, 85, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the grace of the Lord she faithfully served throughout her life.

Born on January 22, 1941, Janice dedicated her life to helping others. She possessed a servant’s heart and found her greatest joy in caring for those in need. Her compassion knew no bounds, and she devoted countless hours to assisting the sick, the indigent, the elderly, and especially those who were blind. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to others left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

A devoted child of God, Janice was a proud and faithful member of Clifton Christian Church. Her faith guided every aspect of her life and inspired her dedication to serving her community. She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with a warm smile, a kind word, and an open heart. Janice was known for her friendly spirit, compassionate nature, and her love of cooking. Nothing brought her greater happiness than preparing meals and sharing them with family, friends, neighbors, and anyone in need.

Above all, Janice cherished her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose love and guidance will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, James Crowder; her children, James W. Crowder (Alan), Jeffrey Mark Crowder (Debbie), Timothy R. Crowder, and Teresa McKinnie; her brothers, Richard Hamilton and Barry Maul (Rita); her grandchildren, Erik Crowder, Kevin Crowder, and Kyle Bullard; her great-grandchildren, Dixie Bullard and Nathan Crowder, great-great grandchild, Ezrah; as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends who were blessed by her love and friendship.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Mary Hamilton; her brothers, Forrest Hamilton, Lawrence Rex Hamilton, and Joey Maul; and her sister, Marilyn Enyart.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Janice's life during visitation on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. A funeral service honoring her life and legacy will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Though Janice's earthly journey has come to an end, her legacy of faith, service, compassion, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she has entered into eternal peace and is now resting in the presence of her Savior.
