Janice A Disbro

Born in Urban, Kentucky, to the late Earnest and Marie Abner, Janice A. Disbro passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. A woman of unwavering faith, she was a longtime member of Wall Street United Methodist Church in Jeffersonville.

Janice had a zest for life, whether she was at the card table playing her beloved bridge or out on the golf course, where she proudly achieved the coveted hole-in-one. Her love for competition was matched only by her warmth and kindness—she was a wonderful Christian woman who made every moment count with those she loved.

Above all, Janice will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, Grandma, Great Grammy, and sister. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she poured her heart into each of them. She is survived by her children, Michelle Riggs (Craig) and Michael Disbro (Jodie); grandchildren, Kelsey Pennington (Braden), Jacob Riggs, and Justin Riggs; great-grandchild, Brenley Pennington; and sister, Dorothy Surber. She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of 50 years, Steve Disbro, as well as her parents and siblings, Bobby Abner, Chris Holt, and Judy LeBoeuf.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Janice’s life. Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2025, and from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville. A funeral service honoring her life will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Little York, Indiana.
