Jerry Lee Smith Sr., age 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Jeffersonville, Indiana on June 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 11, 1943, in Crossroads, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Lessie and Myrtle Smith.
Jerry was a man of many talents and an even bigger heart. He had a gift for building and fixing just about anything, a passion that carried into his love of working on old cars. He was especially proud of his prized 1957 Chevy, which he maintained with the same care and attention he gave to everything—and everyone—in his life.
He loved to travel and experience new places, but his true joy was always found in the company of his family. His love for them was deep, constant, and unconditional. Jerry’s kindness, strength, and humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Jerry is preceded in death by his 3 brothers. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Sue Smith; his loving children, Susan Rollman (Dan) and Jerry Lee Smith Jr. (Amy); and his cherished granddaughters, Alexa Morgan and Madison Smith and several nieces and nephews. Jerry’s legacy lives on in the values he instilled and the memories he helped create.
In keeping with his wishes, no services are currently planned. His family will honor his life privately, holding close the warmth of his love and the strength of his spirit.
He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
