Jim Dooley

Jim Dooley, 66, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, and went to be with his Heavenly Father. A devoted servant of Christ, Jim was a beloved elder and deacon at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ of Jeffersonville, where he dedicated his life to sharing the Gospel and proclaiming the Good News. His faith was unwavering, and his kindness knew no bounds.

Jim never met a stranger—whether in the grocery store, at church, or in the community, he always seemed to cross paths with someone he had served, helped, or encouraged. His presence was a source of joy and comfort to many, and his generosity of spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

He found great joy in time spent at the Clark County Conservation Club, his cherished Saturday Morning Breakfast Club, and his work as an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. At times he could be found playing ball with his beloved Peach. But above all, Jim was a devoted family man. He led with grace and mercy, always ready with a kind word of encouragement and a helping hand. His love and guidance will remain a beacon for his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Mae Dooley.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Theresa Dooley; son, Dawson Dooley (Madisyn); granddaughter, Berkley Mae Dooley; father, Norman Dooley; brother, Mike Dooley; sister, Barbara Calfee; aunts, Reva Glass and Judy Bolin; sister-in-law, Rhonda Hoffman.; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 3209 Middle Road, and again 10 a.m. until service time Thursday, February 6, 2025 at the church. Funeral services in honor of his life will be celebrated 12 p.m. Thursday at the church.
