Jose Nemencio Molina, affectionately known as “Big Zay,” was born on January 11, 1977, and passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026.
Jose was a proud graduate of Jeffersonville High School, Class of 1995, and was most recently employed by Greater Clark County Schools, where he worked as a custodian at Parkview Elementary School. He took pride in his work and was known for his dependable and caring nature.
Jose found great joy and stress relief in his love for RC cars, a hobby that brought him peace and happiness. He was a devoted sports fan, cheering faithfully for the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Cincinnati Bengals. Above all else, Jose cherished his family—especially his children—who were the center of his world.
He is survived by his loving father, Angel Molina; his children, Da’quan, Jaiden, and Kristen Molina, and Carmen Strickland; the mother of his children, Nina Howard and Christy Short ; his siblings, Juana Molina (Roy Cain), Tony Molina (Rhonda), and his twin brother, Juan Molina (Mary); his aunts, Carmen, Maria, Lydia, Norma, Nellie, and Lorrina; his uncle, Robert; 13 nieces and nephews; and four grandchildren, with one more on the way, and a host of extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth and his uncles, Santos “Junior”, Donald Mitchell Jr.
Jose will be remembered for his big heart, his quiet strength, and his deep love for his family. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In keeping with Jose’s wishes, cremation has been chosen, and no services are planned.
