Joseph James Lampkin, affectionately known as Jamie, was born on June 20, 1961, in Louisville, Kentucky, and passed away on January 27, 2025. Jamie was a man who truly loved the outdoors, finding joy in hunting and fishing. His passion for life was evident in his relationships with his family and friends, whom he cherished deeply.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sharon Lampkin, daughter Ami-Jo Lampkin, and grandson Joseph (Joey) Lampkin. Jamie also leaves behind his mother-in-law Mary Fouts, brothers Joe (and his wife Gayle), Michael (and his wife Sandy), and Terry Joe (and his wife Bonnie), brother-in-law Kenneth (and his wife Angel) Carver, sisters-in-law Marie (and her husband Mike) West, and Penny (and her husband Nathan) Padgett. Additionally, many nieces, nephews, and friends continue to hold his memory dear.
Predeceased family members include his father Joe Lampkin, mother Lottie Lampkin, and sister Dianne Lampkin. Jamie was known as a maintenance man and a jack of all trades, showcasing his skill and versatility throughout his career.
We will all miss Jamie’s love for life, family, and friends. He has gone to be with his Mom and Dad. It is certain that when we think of him, we will have a crooked grin on our faces.
The service for Joseph James Lampkin will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Scott Funeral Home, located at 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN 47130. Visitation will take place from 12 PM to 5 PM, with the service to follow.
