Joshua Gabriel Grigg Obituary

Joshua Gabriel Grigg, 48, of Sellersburg, IN, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024.

He is survived by his three children, Samuel John Amos (9), Dylan Mackenzie (16), and Hannah Isabel Grigg (20); parents, Wesley D. Grigg of Fredericksburg, VA, Cynthia Grace Grigg of Sellersburg, IN; siblings, Josiah (Faith) Grigg of Marysville, IN, Alyse (Jon) Burton of Louisville, KY, and Julianna Grigg of Sellersburg, IN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, April (Tim) Podleiszek.

Joshua spent most of his life in Virginia, where he attended Ferry Farm Elementary, Gayle Middle School, and Stafford High School.

He also attended Old Dominion University and most recently Ivy Tech Community College, where his sister, April, was a nursing instructor in the ASN program. His goal was to follow in her footsteps helping others.

Joshua was a larger-than-life personality with a huge heart and love for his family. He enjoyed telling stories, singing, meeting people, and traveling. He was a gifted writer and conversationalist and could spend hours talking about anything and everything. He was passionate about life and tried his best to live it to the fullest. He was also a businessman and, with his best friend Ray, started a thriving roofing company in VA. He once made the front page of our local newspaper when he noticed a gentleman slumped over the wheel of his truck while stopped at a traffic light at a busy intersection. He managed to pull him to safety and prayed for him while administering CPR until EMS arrived on the scene. The man’s life was saved by Joshua’s selfless act.

His sudden passing has left our family devastated, but we take comfort in the fact that he is with the Lord Jesus and reunited with his sister, April and all our precious loved ones.  A private service will be held at Scott Funeral Home in Jeffersonville, IN.
