Joyce Rae (Watson) Bodine, 86, passed away July 22, 2024 in Lagrange, KY after an illness. She was surrounded by her family, who loved her so much.
Born on August 10, 1937 to Robert and Helena Watson, she leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She graduated from Jeffersonville High School, where she met the love of her life and husband of 64 years, Tom Bodine. She was a homemaker who loved nothing more than having her family and extended family around her. She was a life long member of New Chapel United Methodist Church, where through the years she taught Sunday School, was youth group leader and led a girl scout troop. More than anything, she loved telling people about Jesus and changed many lives through her witness. She was a proud military wife that supported her husband throughout his career. Her three grandchildren were her pride and joy and she relished the role of “Granny” like no other.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Bodine; parents, Robert and Helena Watson; her sister, Arla Howard; nephew, Steven Howard and her in-laws, Preston and Minnie Bodine.
She is survived by her daughter Joni Boon (David), son Thomas Bodine Jr (Donna Mattox), all of Lagrange, KY; three grandchildren, Jillian Boon of Miami Beach, FL, Samuel Bodine of Owensboro, KY and Jacob Boon of Nashville, TN; sister, Sue McDonner; brother, Royse Watson (Darnell) and a network of nieces and nephews, in-laws, cousins and dear friends.
