Judy Lavonne (Winburn) Stephenson

Judy Lavonne Stephenson (Winburn), age 80, of La Grange, Kentucky departed to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 12, 2022. 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Northside Church of Christ, 2510 E. 10th Street, Jeffersonville, IN, with burial to follow at Eastern Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM on Tuesday at the church. 

Mrs. Stephenson was a graduate of Lincoln Institute, in Simpsonville, Kentucky, and in her youth, she was employed as a telephone operator at Southwestern Bell, in San Antonio, Texas.  

For 62 years, Mrs. Stephenson was the best friend, and cherished wife of Mr. John H. Stephenson, 1st Master Sergeant of the US Air Force. As a military wife, Mrs. Stephenson traveled extensively, and made lifelong friends in dozens of countries, on 5 different continents. 

Mrs. Stephenson will be remembered for her selflessness, her sense of humor, and her immense love for her family and friends. 

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Stephenson is survived by her 4 children: Hope, John Jr., Diedre, and Nikki. She was predeceased by her mother, Virginia E. Harris; and stepfather, Frank Robert Sherley.
