Keith "Woo" Hammons

Keith “Woo” Hammons, 66, passed away May 14, 2022. He was born in Louisville, KY on June 3, 1955, to the late Woodrow and Edith Hammons.  

Keith is a 1975 graduate of Atherton High School. From December, 1977 to November, 1982, he served his country proudly in the United States Navy. While serving Keith received numerous awards and medals. Keith was very intelligent and in April he had enrolled in Post University.  

Keith loved quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandson. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports and being active with them in the yard. His love was unconditional, with a huge heart for anyone, even a stranger. He cherished his lifelong friendship with a few of his greatest buddies.  

In addition to his parents, Keith is preceded in death by the Love of his life, Lisa Embury. 

He is survived by his brother, Tony Hammons; daughters, Amanda Hammons, Rebecca and Stephanie Embury; grandchildren, Elsa Hammons, James Wall, and Andrew Webb; his great grandchild, James Spencer; and his two cats, Claude and Melanie.  

Visitation will be Friday, June 10 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville. A memorial service will be at 6:00 in the chapel of the funeral home.
