Kelly Reynolds Obituary

Kelly Jean Reynolds (Urban), age 56, passed away on October 7, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, following a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Born on January 14, 1969, in Connecticut to Victoria and the late John Urban, Kelly was raised in upstate New York before relocating to southwest Michigan with her mother and brother. There, her family grew and was lovingly supported by Wayne Avery Sr., who helped raise Kelly and her brother Carl alongside their mother, Vicki. The family later welcomed Wayne Jr. and Amanda, completing the close‑knit bond they all shared.

Kelly’s life was deeply rooted in family. She was a devoted mother to Dustin Urban, Lindsay Givans, Casey Givans, Cody Givans, and lovingly helped raise Casey and Madison Reynolds after meeting the love of her life, her soulmate, Christopher Reynolds. She was also a proud stepmother to the late Tony Givans from her first marriage.

Kelly’s heart was as big as her family. She was the glue that held everyone together — the constant supporter, thoughtful gift‑giver, and the one who remembered every little detail. Her home was a place of celebration, especially during holidays when she welcomed her children and grandchildren with open arms. No matter the distance, Kelly always found her way back to Michigan for special family occasions, never missing a chance to be present with the ones she loved.

Her warmth extended beyond her role as a mother — she was a cherished daughter, sister, and “Memaw” to her beloved grandchildren. Kelly had a strong, giving spirit and a joyful sense of humor. She was a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan and cheered for the Ohio State Buckeyes right alongside Chris, sharing in his love for the game.

Kelly leaves behind a large, loving family who will miss her dearly: her children Dustin (Kiera) Urban, Lindsay (Buzzy Jurek) Givans, Casey (Jamie Plunkett) Givans, Cody (Christiana Withers) Givans, Casey Reynolds, and Madison Reynolds; her mother and stepfather, Victoria and Wayne Avery Sr.; siblings Carl (Nicole) Urban, Wayne (Taylor) Avery Jr., and Amanda (Brandon) Shugars; grandchildren Jayden, Ryatt, Jackson, Jillian, and Piper; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Christopher Reynolds, father John Urban, her maternal and paternal grandparents, first husband Dale Givans, and stepson Tony Givans.

All who were blessed to know Kelly will carry her memory in their hearts forever. The void her passing leaves is immeasurable, but we find comfort in believing she is now reunited with Chris, the love of her life.
