Kermit "Wayne" Kinkade Obituary

Kermit “Wayne” Kinkade, age 77, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024. He was born in Glendale, CA on October 15, 1947 to the late Kermit and Lorraine Kinkade.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Cindy Kinkade, and his brother, Marvin Kinkade.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Kinkade; his children, Tina (Dawn) Kinkade-Groth, and Jennifer (Kelly) Kinkade-Orr; step-daughter, Holly Stewart and step-son, Vince Stewart; grandsons, William (Megan) Jones, Austin (Whitney) Jones, Luke (Makenzie Davis) Jones, Kristofer, Kolton, and London Orr; great-grandchildren, Viola, Adaline, and Wren Jones; siblings, Les (Julie) Kinkade, Cindy (Skip) Rhew, Ken Kinkade, and April (Dave) Weatherbee.

Wayne was a man of profound faith, living each day as a reflection of his love for Jesus Christ. He found his greatest joy in telling others about Jesus. He was active for many years in the Gideons International organization and served as an associate minister at Christ Gospel Church, spreading joy, and walking the path of faith with unwavering dedication. He was an inspiration to those who knew him, teaching us all about grace, forgiveness, and the power of love.

Family was the center of “Wayne’s World”. As a devoted husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend, he showed his love not just through words but through actions—whether it was cheering on the sidelines, sharing stories around the dinner table, or simply being there when we needed him most. His laughter, wisdom, and strength were a guiding light for all of us.

Beyond his faith and family, he had a gift for creating and designing beautiful jewelry, as a second generation jeweler, and loved working with his brother, Les. He had a thrill for fast cars, and enjoying the beauty of nature. He could often be found with a joyful grin on his face. In nature, he found peace—whether hiking, camping, skiing, admiring a sunset, or studying the stars. These were the moments that brought him closer to God and family.

Kermit “Wayne” Kinkade leaves behind a family who will carry on his love of life, his passion for adventure, and his unwavering faith. Though we grieve his absence, we rejoice in knowing he has found eternal rest in the arms of his Savior.
