Laura Marie Jean Smith

Laura Marie Jean Smith, 91, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2020.  She was born on January 21, 1929 in Wana, West Virgina to the late Arthur and Vernie Eddy. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. 

Laura was a member of First Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, where she especially enjoyed working in the nursery and holding babies.  She was an avid fan of old country music, loved going on drives and could be found every year on the Fourth of July hayrides.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Walter Smith; son Larry Smith; and brother Ray Eddy.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Phoebe Curry (Delbert) and James Eddy (Alice); grandchildren, Julie Lawson, Mylissa Westbay, Tammy, Joseph, Anthony, and Ricky Eddy; and great-grandchildren, Dalton Brown, Devon Krueger, Alyssa and Abygail Lawson, Kaden Westbay, and Alex Eddy.
