Lavar A. Harrison passed away surrounded by the love and memories of the family who knew him best. Lavar lived life on his own terms — boldly, loudly, and often on the edge. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, and someone who would do anything for the people he cared about.
No one in this life is perfect, and Lavar’s story was no different. But through it all, there were many who experienced his kindness, loyalty, humor, and heart. Whether you knew him as Lavar, Naked, Noodles B, or Uncle Noodles, the memories made with him will live on through every laugh and every story shared.
Lavar loved collecting Hot Wheels, spending time outside with friends and family, and expressing himself through rap music. Before his sickness, you could often find him surrounded by people, making memories, laughing, telling stories, and simply enjoying life in his own way. He also loved playing games, joking around, and using his imagination to keep his nieces laughing.
Lavar was famous for giving every niece and great-niece their own nickname — and once he gave you one, there was no escaping it. It was yours for life.
He had an outgoing spirit and never hesitated to speak his mind, whether people wanted to hear it or not. That honesty, bold personality, and unforgettable presence were simply part of what made Lavar who he was.
Lavar was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Debra “Debbie” Taylor, and we find comfort in knowing she welcomed her son with open arms, holding him close once again. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Roberta Newbolt; Helen (Melvin) Boyd; and Edward “Ned” (Vena) O'Bannon, Sr.; as well as his aunts and uncles, Pamela Newbolt, Richard Newbolt, Wanda (Ricky) McDonald, Emily “Jeannie” Tharpe, Joleen Smith, and Jaron “Derrick” Teague.
He leaves behind his father, Edward (Sheryl) O'Bannon, Jr.; his stepfather, Darrol Taylor; his siblings, Leslie Martin, Lance Harrison, Yun O'Bannon, and Brittany O'Bannon; his aunts and uncles, Lisa Smith, Kathy Coley, Antonio Lamont Tharpe, Anthony “Tony” O'Bannon, and Lisa Boyd; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and a host of cousins who loved him dearly.
Though his journey in life was not always easy, Lavar’s memory will remain alive in the hearts of those who knew the man behind the many names. His family will remember the love, the laughter, the loyalty, and the unforgettable spirit he carried throughout his life.
Forever loved. Forever remembered
