Lawrence M. Bennett Jr.

Lawrence M. Bennett Jr., 73, of Jeffersonville, IN, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. 

 Larry was born to the late Lawrence M. Bennett Sr. and Lucy Jane Harris Bennett in Cleveland, TN on May 9, 1947, he was a native of Miami, Florida.

His ministry of fifty-five (55) years involved pastoring, international travel, missions, marketplace ministry training, mentoring, and first responder chaplaincy (serving, as well as developing chaplaincy departments). He was a lover of people and one who dedicated himself to seeing them reach their full potential.

 Larry is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carlotta Bishop Bennett; daughters, Lawrita Bennett-Gomez (Todd) and Amity Bennett-McGee (Carl); sister, Rebecca Letson (Richard); grandchildren, Thomas Sleepe (Michal), Timothy Sleepe (Olivia), Nathaniel Sleepe, Noah Sleepe, Carl McGee IV, Luke Sleepe, Ian Sleepe, Abigail McGee, Gabriel McGee, Seth Sleepe, Hannah Sleepe, Lawrence McGee and Jadah Sleepe; great grandchild, Beckett Sleepe and 2 expected great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Covenant Life Church, 2326 Veterans Pkway, Jeffersonville, IN with burial to follow at Abundant Life Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkway, Jeffersonville. IN prior to the service.
