Lester “Lee” Bowers, Jr., age 60, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Born in New Albany to the late Dortha Marie Bowers and Lester Lee Bowers, Sr., Lee will be remembered as a man of resilience, strength, and quiet determination throughout a lifetime of health-related challenges.
Lee was an avid outdoorsman who found peace and joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. He was also an accomplished gunsmith who genuinely enjoyed tinkering on firearms and sharing that passion with others. Whether in the workshop or gathered with friends and family, Lee cherished the simple moments spent connecting with those around him.
Despite the obstacles he faced, Lee was known by many for his enduring spirit and perseverance. His love for the outdoors, his craftsmanship, and his willingness to spend time helping and visiting with others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Hall.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Pam Baker and Lesley Conley; his nieces and nephews, Rickey Baker, Jr. (Joy), Sean Baker, Sr., Zechariah Hall (Jessica), Amber Conley, and Ashley Conley; his uncle, Mike Hubbard (Robin); aunt, Laverne Stepro-Perkins; as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
In accordance with his wishes, Lee’s family has chosen cremation. Scott Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
A Celebration of life will be held at Harry's Tap House, 130 West Riverside Drive, Jeffersonville, IN from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Sunday, June 14, 2026.
