Lois Elaine Estridge, 94, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on October 13, 1927 to the late Frank George and Mary Unkles Voight Sr., in Paducah, Kentucky. Lois was a longtime teacher for Greater Clark County Schools and worked for the Louisville Bats for over 31 years. She was once awarded the Employee of the Year Spirit Award for the entire International Baseball League. In addition to her love for the Bats, she also enjoyed UK and U of L, and sports in general. She was also a member at First Christian Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Lois was a very strong and independent social butterfly, who never met a stranger. In her spare time, Lois loved sitting back and watching the peaceful birds and other wild life from her window, and going out to eat. Lois will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Lois is preceded in death by her loving husband, Chester A. Estridge; 2 siblings, Frank Voight and Bill Voight; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Jones; and sister in law, Dorothy Voight.
Left to cherish her memory, Lois leaves behind 2 sons, Rick Estridge (Sheila) and Tim Estridge (Angela); grandson, Evan Estridge; great grandson, Noah Jones; niece, Marianne Lamberton; and a host of extended family, caregivers, and friends.
A visitation for Mrs. Lois Estridge will be held from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana. A funeral service will begin at 1:30 PM, with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery to follow.
