Marcella E. (Gleason) Rumpel

Marcella E. (Gleason)  Rumpel, 82, of Jeffersonville, IN passed away on April 23, 2022 in Louisville, KY. She was born on September 14, 1939 in Jeffersonville, IN, daughter of Robert A. and Mildred (Geswein) Gleason.  A graduate from Bellarmine University, she worked in the banking industry for 30 years and later as IT Director for University Surgical Associates.  Marcella had a servant heart and volunteered on several committees at both Sacred Heart & St. John Paul II catholic parishes.  Dedicated to giving back she also traveled to Haiti on mission trips with the church.  An avid traveler, Marcella visited over 25 countries and almost all 50 states. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert M. Rumpel; twin sister, Marice Nettleship; brother, Thomas Gleason.  Marcella is survived by her daughters, Lynn Oliver (Tim), Sheri Sons (Tim); brother, Dennis Gleason (Deborah); grandchildren, Gretchen Oliver, Timothy Oliver, Jacob Oliver (Mariah), Marcie Zimmerman, Christopher Sons, along with her guardian, Karen Dunn.

There will be a visitation held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN.  Service will follow at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 2253 W. St. Joe Road, Sellersburg, IN at 1:00 pm.  Burial will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Jeffersonville, IN.
