Marcia Kay Hoyland, age 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. She was born in New Albany on August 27, 1943 to the late Lewis C. Williams and Nellie Hebner Rauth.
Marcia was an avid golfer. She was instrumental in starting the women’s golf program at Providence. She was a proud member of the Hole in One Club. She coached the girls Clarksville little league softball and basketball and tennis at Clarksville High School. Marcia was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, the Jeff Elks Club, and the Business Professionals Women’s Softball League (BPW).
In addition to her parents, Marcia is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Frances Hoyland.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard Hoyland, children, Rick (Crystal) Hoyland, and Tracy Hoyland; granddaughter, Jessica (Rodney) Kesler; and her great-grandson, Graeham Griffin.
Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway on Friday, January 26 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. Her funeral service will be Saturday morning at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
