Margaret Purcell passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born on December 24, 1944, in Hartford, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Albert and Edward Johnson.
Margaret had a love for adventure and found joy in traveling, especially in her RV to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, to watch the bears, and to Key West to soak in the sunshine. She also loved cruises, reading, and spending time with her cherished fur companion, Corky.
She is survived by her sons, Allen “Peewee” Purcell (Julie) and Albert “Tubby” Purcell (Kimberly); her grandchildren, Gentry Purcell, Jessica Hahn, Kim Bush (Jason), and Megan Purcell Ellis (Ethan); and her great-grandchildren, Evan Gillaitt, Noah Johnson, Matthew Bush, and Samantha Bush. She will be lovingly remembered by her best friend and longtime traveling companion, Joyce Zolman (Glen), and her special friend, Lori Holder.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Martha.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN 47130.
Her laughter, warmth, and adventurous spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
