Marilyn Ruth Rosenberry

Marilyn Ruth Rosenberry, age 76, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025. Born on February 27, 1949, to the late William and Margaret Harlan, Marilyn was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend whose vibrant spirit and warm heart touched all who knew her.

Marilyn lived a life filled with love, creativity, and joy. She had a passion for listening to audiobooks, letting stories transport her to faraway places. Her hands were rarely still—whether working on intricate diamond art, sewing beautiful pieces for those she loved, or gliding down snowy slopes with the exhilaration of skiing. She especially delighted in the rhythm and community of square dancing.

She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Samuel, with whom she built a life full of laughter and devotion. Together, they raised three loving children: Tina, Randy, and Richard Rosenberry, who continue to carry her legacy of kindness and resilience.

Marilyn is also survived by her devoted sisters, Cheryl Viers (Charlie) and Kathy Tavares-Dixon (Mike), and by her dear sister-in-law, Tonna Lee, who held a place in Marilyn’s heart as a true sister, and her loving furry companion, Mocha Joe.  She was preceded in death by her siblings Bud Harlan, Delores Powell, Bruce Harlan, Brenda Laduke, Bill Harlan, and John Harlan, each of whom she remembered with love.

Marilyn’s presence brought warmth to every room and comfort to every heart. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will continue to inspire grace, love, and strength in those she leaves behind.
