Mark Henderson Obituary

Mark Craig Henderson, age 60 of New Albany, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at Rolling Hills Nursing Home.  Son of the late William Edward Henderson, he will be remembered for his gentle spirit, hardworking nature, and deep appreciation for the simple blessings of life.

Mark spent many years working as a roofer in the construction business, a trade that reflected his strong work ethic and willingness to labor under the open sky he so dearly loved. An avid outdoorsman, Mark found great joy in fishing, deer hunting, and simply being surrounded by nature. He cherished the warmth of the sun on his face, the quiet beauty of creation, and the moments of reflection that came from a peaceful afternoon spent sitting on the porch. These simple pleasures brought him comfort and filled his heart with gratitude.

Above all, Mark valued companionship and kindness. He is survived by his dear friend and devoted caregiver, Clifton Swift of New Albany; a dear next-door neighbor who also looked after his well-being, Craig; his loving mother, Dorothy Christina (Bright) Henderson of Campbellsville, Kentucky; and his brother, Charles Henderson (Robbin) of Palmyra. Their love and care were a constant source of strength and comfort in his life.

In honoring Mark’s wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be no public services held at Scott Funeral Home, located at 2515 Veterans Parkway in Jeffersonville. Though no formal gathering will take place, those who knew and loved Mark are encouraged to remember him in quiet moments of reflection—perhaps outdoors, beneath the sun and sky he so deeply cherished.
