Obituary
Mark Junior Hicks, 58, of Memphis, Indiana passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, May 13, 2023.
He was born September 22, 1964 in Louisville, Kentucky to Junior Joe Hicks and Marion Roberta (Key) Durham. Mark was a Pipefitter for Hussung Mechanical and a member of Local Union 502.
Mark enjoyed playing the guitar and recently purchased a Martin; riding motorcycles and working on his dune buggy. He also enjoyed going fishing and taking care of his chickens. He was a true animal lover. He also spent his time tinkering, building, inventing and trying to fix things. Mark enjoyed traveling to the beach and ocean as well as the mountains, he enjoyed God’s beauty. Mark was an avid UK fan. Mark enjoyed and loved spending time with his family. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Junior Joe Hicks.
Those left to cherish his memory are his four children, Melanie Hicks-Straney (Derek), Sydney Schmitt, Carter Hicks and Ray “Tate” Edwards; his mother, Marion Durham (Charles Rightnour); step-mother, Regina Hicks; four siblings, Karen Hicks, Ricky Hicks (Lisa Meixell-Hicks), Gloria Walsh (Brian) and Rob Hicks (Heather Gerlack-Hicks); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
Scott Family Services will be in charge of arrangements.
