Marlene Joyce Finney, 79, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on January 22, 1943, to the late Jesse Joseph and Mary Loretta McHugh Joyce in Louisville, Kentucky. Marlene was a loving wife and dedicated mother, whose family meant everything to her. She retired from the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant (ICI) after 27 years of dedicated service. Marlene, our Angel, was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. In her retirement, she devoted her beautiful life and love to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Jesse and Mary Joyce, Marlene is preceded in death by an aunt/uncle, Sissy and Rudy Bouteiller; sister, Gayle Peters; and 2 brothers, Ronald “Red” Joyce, and Sonny Joyce.
Left to cherish her memory, her survivors include her beloved husband of 62 years, “Paul” Mike Finney; daughters, Deborah Finney, and Angie Moore (Chuck); son, Mike Finney; 3 grandchildren, Caitlyn, Maggie (Chase), and Emma (Gavyn); 4 great grandchildren, Raelyn, Macen, Roenn, and Steven; grand dog, Winston; 4 siblings; special family in kind, Delores “DD” Duke, Donna Peters, Kim Lutz (Steve), Linda and Perry Basham, Rosie Kopp, and Donna Kopp Ennis; and a host of extended family and close friends.
In accordance with the wishes, funeral services for Mrs. Marlene Joyce Finney will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at St. Augustine Church, 315 E. Chestnut Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 7 PM on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana. Entombment at Walnut Ridge Cemetery will follow the funeral service.
The family of Mrs. Finney would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to the physicians and nurses on the 3rd Floor ICU at Norton Brownsboro Hospital for their dedicated and loving care they showed to Marlene. Memorial donations in Marlene’s name can be made to the St. Jude Foundation or the Home of the Innocents.
