Marlyn Fern Rickard, age 94, entered Eternal Life on July 20, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, to the late Thomas and Gladys Clarke, Marlyn lived a life marked by creativity, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those around her.
A woman of many talents and deep compassion, Marlyn was especially fond of arts and crafts. Her delicate stained glass pieces reflected not just her craftsmanship but the vibrant spirit and patience with which she approached life. In her early years, she shared that same passion and dedication as a Girl Scout Leader, helping to shape the lives of young girls in her community. She also spent time working for Playhouse Toys in Minnesota, where her love for children and play would shine through.
When her family relocated to Evansville, Marlyn extended her natural warmth to others by joining the Welcome Wagon, joyfully greeting new neighbors and helping them feel right at home. Her legacy is one of hospitality, creativity, and quiet strength, as a woman who never missed an opportunity to bring beauty or comfort to someone’s day.
She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory forward with pride: her children, Cindy Boston (John), Linda Gaubatz(Sam), Mike Treberg, Tim Treberg, and Dianna Reid (Terry); grandchildren, Cherice (Danielle), Evan (Ben), Megan, Bryan (Diana), Addie, Alex, Aja, and Azaria; and great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Lillian, Stella, Jocelyn, Nikolai, Jonah and Milow. She is also survived by her sister, Marj Repinski; brother, Bill Clarke (Judy); and many dear nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Marlyn was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Anne Wipple, and brother, Pat Clarke.
A memorial visitation to celebrate Marlyn’s life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with a luncheon reception to be held afterward for family and friends to gather in fellowship and remembrance.
