Mary A. Call, 90, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at her home. She was born on August 15, 1933 in Watsonville, California, daughter of Miguel and Soledad Quintero. Mary worked for Dillard’s Department Store for 39 years and was a dedicated employee. She was very talented and enjoyed sewing and crocheting and especially excelled in baking. Mary was one of 100 people chosen in 1969 to compete in The Pillsbury Bake Off, which she made her special dish called “Pronto Enchilada Bake”. Mary was honored to be selected to be a Spanish Interpreter at PanAm Games in 1987 held in Indianapolis and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and 4H Leader in cooking class.
Mary was a kind and caring person and was always making a special tasteful dish or sewing a gift for her friends and family.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Call; grandson, Philip Adam Call; a sister & brother. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Call; sons, Roger, David(Ira), John Call; sisters, Julia Nunes, Anna Quintero, Jenny Brashers(Don), Esther Quintero; brothers, Stephan and Daniel Quintero; along with 5 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
There will be a visitation held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 11-1:30pm with service to follow at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
