Mary Lou (Angeliu) Rousseau

Mary Lou Rousseau, 89, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away peacefully the morning of May 31, 2021. She was born June 4, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Angelos Angeliu and Sophie Padowicz Angeliu.

She was married for over 63 years to Arthur J. Rousseau, Jr., and they exemplified the meaning of true love. Mary Lou was a homemaker, secretary, master gardener, longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and the local YMCA. She started her career at Ford Tractor Company, and after raising her children, later returned to the workforce retiring from American Air Filter.

Mary Lou is survived by her six children; Ann (Rick) Coleman, Cathy (Steve Crowe) Rousseau, Beth Rousseau, Mary (Alan) Butts, Nancy (Keith) Meriwether, Art (Alicia) Rousseau III; her brother, John (Roberta) Angeliu; Eleven grandchildren; Erin (Kyle) Stackhouse, Meggen (Tony) Smedal, Brent (Jen) Coleman, Lauren (Brooke Friley) Coleman, Katie (Daniel) Cunningham, Emily (Derek) Sheffield; Hannah, Nick and Jack Meriwether; AJ and Sophie Rousseau; and Ten great grandchildren; Owen, Ella, Lorraine and Daphne Stackhouse, Madelyn and Melody Smedal, Theodore Coleman, Emerson, Solomon, and Gideon Sheffield.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at The Villages of Historic Silvercrest for the care given to Mary Lou.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that condolences be made in donations to Hosparus of Southern Indiana. Envelopes will be provided at the Funeral Home.

A funeral service for Mary Lou will be on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Scott Funeral Home (2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana) at 11:00 am, with burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Visitation will be Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Scott Funeral Home from 1:00-6:00 pm, and Monday, June 7, 2021 from 9-11am, prior to the service at the funeral home.
