Melinda K Townsend "KuKu"

Melinda K Townsend “KuKu”, 67, passed away at her home with her family by her side on Friday, May 12, 2023. She was born December 3, 1955 to Marie Townsend and her husband, the late Brownlow Townsend.

Melinda was the life of the party, and loved showering her friends and family with attention. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed competing in agility shows with her dogs and having her annual “puppy party” with all of her agility friends. She was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle in Sellersburg and a member of the Bright Star Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star Jeffersonville.

In addition to her mother, Melinda is survived by her son, Josh (Shawnee) Cunningham; brother, Dwight (Chris) Townsend; nieces, Erin Townsend and Nikki (Tim) White; nephew, Wayne (Amanda) Townsend; grandchildren, Cash and Presley; great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous cousins, countless friends, and her beloved canine companions, Wyatt and Ella.

Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, on Tuesday, May 16 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm, and again on Wednesday, from 10:00 to 11:00 am with the funeral at 11:00 am in the chapel of the funeral home. A special Order of Eastern Star service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday.
