Melissa Lynn Boyd

Melissa "Missy" Lynn Boyd, age 60, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Missy lived a life filled with love, music, and cherished moments. Her kind heart and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her. 

A devoted animal lover, Missy shared a deep connection with her beloved cat, Luna, who was her constant companion. She found joy in the simple things—whether experimenting in the kitchen, where her culinary talents brought comfort and happiness to family and friends, or immersing herself in the soothing sounds of folksy music, which reflected her soulful and easygoing nature. 

Missy spent her career as a skilled accountant, balancing the books with the same dedication and care she showed in all aspects of her life. She found great pride in her work, but her greatest joy came from her relationships with those closest to her. 

Missy is survived by her loving daughter, Mae Boyd, who was the light of her life; her brother, Michael Boyd; cousins, Brendan Sanders, Katrina Durbin, Tom Rowe, and Raymond Rowe; niece, Charity Cissell; and grand nephews, Degataga Nixon, Dekanawida Nixon, Peyton Cissell and Brendan Cissell; and many dear friends. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and quiet strength that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. 

In accordance with her wishes, Missy has been cremated. The family will honor her privately and cherish their memories of her. Arrangements have been entrusted to Scott Funeral Home, located at 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville.
