Melvin "Rick" Richard Edwards Jr.

Melvin “Rick” Richard Edwards Jr., 70, of Jeffersonville, IN, passed away on February 3, 2020. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 8 PM on Friday and from 9 AM to 11 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. 

Rick was born on July 13, 1949 in Jeffersonville, IN to the late Melvin “Lefty” and Mary Edwards.  He retired from Philip Morris after 32 years where he worked as a Tech Operator and Chief Shop Steward for Local Union #16.  Rick was a deacon and trustee at First Baptist Church of Jeffersonville for many years and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Zennie Edwards; son, Bradley “Brad” Edwards; three brothers, David Edwards (Sheila), Larry Edwards (Jana), and Steve Edwards (Irma); honorary children, Amber and Wayne Hughes, Cameron and Kodi Hughes, Amy Huelsman, and Kelsey and Addisyn Huelsman.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the First Baptist Church of Jeffersonville or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
