Michael C. Goff, Sr., age 72 of Jeffersonville, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, loyalty, and love. Born to the late Revel B. and Jewell (Shields) Goff, Michael spent 20 faithful years as a salesman for Bumper-to-Bumper—where he likely knew every part number by heart and never missed a chance to strike up a conversation. If you needed advice, a story, or a good laugh, Michael was your guy.
Michael had a talent for enjoying life’s simple pleasures and a few spirited debates along the way. He loved his video games, could talk politics with conviction (and volume), and was a devoted sports fan—always cheering on his Louisville Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds with unwavering loyalty, whether they were winning big or “building character.” He found peace outdoors, soaking up the quiet beauty of nature, enjoying a relaxing day on the golf course or casting a fishing line with the warm sun on his face. And when the mood struck, you could find him at the casino, testing his luck at the slot machines and hoping the next pull would be the lucky one.
Above all else, Michael was a family man through and through. He took his role as protector seriously, always making sure his loved ones were safe, cared for, and knew just how much they meant to him. He cherished family days with his kiddos and especially treasured time with his beloved granddaughter, Riley, who held a very special place in his heart.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia (Milliner) Goff of Jeffersonville; his sons, Michael C. Goff, Jr. (Jennifer) of Louisville & Adam Goff (Carla) of Panama City, Florida; his sister, Sheila Schroering (James); brothers: Larry Goff (Janet), Thomas Goff (Joan), Brett Goff (Jeanine), and Mark Goff (Karen); and his precious granddaughter, Riley Goff.
Michael will be cremated according to his wishes. There will be no services at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Though he may no longer be cheering from the couch, the fairway, or the casino floor, Michael’s humor, devotion, and steady presence will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
