Michele Packer entered this world on April 28, 1968 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was welcomed into the loving embrace of Glenn and Mary Collins, alongside her two siblings. On May 1, 2024, she departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Michele was a happy go lucky child and brought a smile to everyone’s face as a child. She also loved to go to church at Pleasantview Baptist. Michele loved school and only missed one day of school through her childhood. Michele loved to play softball and could hit the ball far! She also loved bowling with the family. She loved to play Uchre (card game), Yahtzee, and plenty card games and work with thousand piece puzzles. Michele was talented with many skills and could also work on cars.
She graduated from Charlestown high school in 1986 as an honor student. She was voted into who’s who among the American High School students. She also graduated from Sullivan College with better than a 4.0 and receiving the Presidents Award. Michele also received her Masters Degree and summa cum laude.
Michele loved to go to the Cardinal Basketball and Football games following them from state to state. For many years she was an usher for the games and enjoyed watching them play. Go Cardinals!
Michele was a giving person. She would make sure everyone around her had a special Christmas. She would donate all kinds of things to many benefits. Michele enjoyed cats and would often feed stray cats.
In her journey through life, Michele was a devoted wife to Thomas Packer Sr., and a loving mother to her sons, Thomas Anthony Packer Jr. and Terrence Alexander Packer, both of Fairdale, KY, and her stepson Antwan Thompson of Jeffersonville, IN. She brought warmth and joy into their lives, nurturing them with her unwavering love and support.
Michele was preceded in death by her beloved father, Glen Collins, whose memory she carried with her always.
In addition to her husband and sons, Michele leaves behind her dear mother, Mary Collins, and her siblings, Shawn and Jennifer Age and Tuesday Collins, to cherish her memory. She was also adored by her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends, all of whom were touched by her kindness and grace.
Visitation will be held 2-7 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2024, and also 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway – Jeffersonville. Funeral services in honor of her life will celebrated 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
