Nancy Blackstone Obituary

Nancy Jean (Neumeister) Blackstone, age 76 of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.  Born to the late George and Jean May (Ferguson) Neumeister, Nancy lived a life centered around family, friendship, kindness, and unwavering love. She worked as a wholesale office manager for more than thirty years, where her dedication and strong work ethic touched many lives. Retirement, however, was simply the beginning of a new chapter. Because of her deep love for children, Nancy continued working for several years in the Jeffersonville High School cafeteria, where her warm smile and caring spirit brightened countless days.

Nancy found joy in life’s simple treasures. She was an avid reader who always had a book nearby, eagerly exploring new stories, places, and ideas through every page she turned. She cherished time spent with her beloved Bunco Girls, sharing years of laughter, friendship, and card games together. Some of her happiest moments were gathered around the table with family, rolling dice and playing TEN THOUSAND with her children and grandbabies.

A devoted University of Louisville fan, Nancy followed Cardinal sports with unmatched enthusiasm, especially football. She treasured every opportunity to cheer on her favorite team from her season seats. She also loved spending peaceful days at Rough River, relaxing on the water, surrounded by the family she adored most.

Nancy possessed a remarkable gift for writing and often expressed her love through heartfelt poetry written for birthdays, celebrations, and family gatherings. Her words became treasured keepsakes and reflected the tenderness, creativity, and compassion that defined her life.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Amy Ruth Blackstone and Marjorie J. Tucker (Shannon); devoted son, Donald L. “JR” Blackstone (Heather); sister, Sue Holman (Rudy); brother, Ray Neumeister (Rose Mary); grandchildren, Adina Mudd, Cameron Mudd (Kayley), MyKayla Biggs (Darien), Tara Fulner (David), Myles McCartin, Mason Tucker, Dawson Tucker, Drake Tucker, Carlie Tucker, Lienna Jean Blackstone, and Raelyn Jolie Blackstone; and four precious great-grandchildren, Nolin and Natalie Biggs, Jaxon Fulner, and Tatum Mudd. She also leaves behind several beloved grand-dogs who will miss her cuddles, kisses, and gentle affection. Nancy loved all of her kiddos and grandbabies without fail and never showed any preference to anyone in particular…but Donald! J
