On November 3, 2024, God welcomed His beloved angel, Nancy Louise reuniting her with the love of her life, Charles “Charlie” Loyd Moore, to continue their never-ending love story in Heaven.
Born on March 17, 1936, in Stearns, Kentucky, Nancy was the cherished daughter of the late Mary Louise and James M. Lewis. In 1950, she attended the Berea Foundation School and graduated in 1955. It was there, while serving on the welcoming committee in 1951, that she met Charlie, the love of her life. They were married on June 10, 1955 and they were stationed in Germany during Charlie’s service with the United States Army.
Upon completion of Charlie’s Army service, they returned to Lexington, Kentucky where they began their family and Charlie began a career with Jerrico. They settled in Jeffersonville, where she stood steadfastly by Charlie’s side as he pursued business ventures, including Jerry’s Restaurants and his real estate investments. Nancy's love for travel took her and Charlie to their cherished camp on the Ohio River, winter retreats in Florida, and numerous adventures shared with family and friends.
Nancy was a devoted member of the First Christian Church of Jeffersonville and a former member of Cook Memorial Methodist Church. Her faith and kindness were guiding lights for all who knew her.
We give thanks to God for releasing our beloved mother from the harsh grip of dementia, and granting her peaceful passage in the comfort of her own home.
