Nancy C. Teeple, 87, a longtime resident of Jeffersonville who retired from the business office of Clark Memorial Hospital, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Nancy was born in Logan County, Kentucky, to David Earl and Dorothy Alice Williams in 1938. When Nancy was just two years old, her family moved to Jeffersonville, where she would spend the majority of her life and build many lasting friendships.
She graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1956, where she proudly played the clarinet in the school band. Not long after, Nancy married Charles Owens and the couple welcomed two sons, Rodney and Greg. Later, Nancy embraced the role of single mother with strength and determination, raising her boys while working in a variety of positions. Among those years was a decade spent working at the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown.
Later in life, Nancy’s story took a turn when she met Charles Teeple, a widowed retiree who shared her love for Indiana University sports, traveling, and gardening. Their shared interests quickly blossomed into a wonderful companionship, and the two were married in 2000. Together they enjoyed traveling, including two memorable trips to Europe, and spent time at their part-time home in Bloomington during IU sporting events. Nancy cherished those years of retirement and the adventures they brought. She was also a faithful member of First Christian Church in Jeffersonville.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Charles Teeple; her sister, Edna Hartlage; and her brother, James H. Williams.
She is survived by her two sons, Rodney (Pam) and Greg; her step-son, William Teeple; and her brother, Gary Williams (Marilyn).
Nancy also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Jason Owens (Heather) and Matthew Owens (Brittany); four cherished great-grandchildren, Isaac, Abigail, Ava, and Sydney; two nieces, Jackie Hartlage and Jennifer Williams; and three nephews, David Williams, James Williams, and Steve Chaney.
Visitation will be held 3-7 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN. Funeral services in celebration of her life will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the funeral Home, with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
