Nancy A. McDowell

Nancy A. McDowell, 93, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023. She was born in New Albany, IN on August 7, 1929 to the late Letcher and Meta B. Saunders.

Nancy was a 1951 graduate of the Norton Infirmary School of Nursing. She was an RN for 44 years at Jewish and Clark Memorial Hospitals.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James McDowell, and her sister, Patricia Chinn.

She is survived by her children, Lisa O’Neal (Christopher), John Carl (Cheryl), Brent Carl (Catherine Webb); grandchildren, Joe Strother (Andrea), Rebecca Aldammad, Zachary Carl, Elizabeth Gray (Seth), Bryce Carl, Brandon Carl; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville on Wednesday, May 17 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, and again on Thursday, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with the funeral to follow. Burial will take place in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
