January 27, 1953 ~ September 1, 2023 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Obituary

Patricia “Patty” Pedroza, 70, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2023, in Louisville, Kentucky.  She was born to the late Dee and Eva Pittman on January 27, 1953, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Patricia, affectionately known as “Abba” (abuelita) to many, was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother to her family, and often was a motherly figure to those she met.  She had a big heart and loved deeply.  Her family was the primary focus of her life.  She loved gardening and watching the hummingbirds fly around her backyard, while sitting in the sun.  She also loved spending time on the beach, especially in Los Cabos.  Her grandkids were her pride and joy.  She was the family matriarch, who loved unconditionally, and made sure everyone was taken care of.

Patty and Ismael met when she was in high school and married a year after her graduation.  Their 51 years together were blessed and full of love.  Their inspiring love story continues to live on and encourage those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Pittman.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ismael Pedroza Cardenas; her sisters, Phyllis Wright, Sharon Rakes, Diana Benson; her children Alma (Brian) McCutcheon, Isma (Nikki Sasher) Pedroza, Andres Pedroza, and Selena Samantha Pedroza.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Patrick (Emily Yellina) McCutcheon, Brianna McCutcheon, Andres Pedroza II, Emma McCutcheon, Anna Pedroza, and Kinsey Pedroza; several beloved nieces and nephews and two wonderful Shih Tzus, Bella and Luna.

Services will be held in the sanctuary of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, 301 Gospel Road, Charlestown, Indiana, on Thursday, September 7. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, with the funeral service following at 1:00 pm.  Burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
