Paul J. Davis, 89, entered into eternal life on Sunday, August 20, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 11, 1934 to the late Charles and Helen Davis, Sr. (Abbott) in Borden, Indiana.
Paul was a member of the Springdale Methodist Church and was retired from the Sellersburg Post Office after 30 years. He was an army veteran and served in the Korean war. He loved to watch sports as long as it related to the Boston Red Sox and Indiana basketball. He loved gardening and was a member of NARFE Chapter 381.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; his brothers Charles, Francis and Norman Davis; his sisters, Norma Ellis and Marcella Grimes, and his grandson, Brad Baumgartle.
Paul is survived by his daughters, Charlotte Davis and Bobbi (Steve) Thiebout; sisters, Marilyn (Dennie) Amos, and Ruth Anne (Ronnie) Andres; sister-in-laws, Wilma Davis and Alma Crecelius Harbeson; brother-in-law, Emory Grimes; grandchildren, Myra Hammann, Brian (Kim) Baumgartle, David Reese, James Nelson, and Trevor Davidson; his great grandchildren, Joseph (Mackenzie) Trevino, Christian Trevino, Hayley and Garrett Thurman, Sophia and Charles Reese; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, on Sunday, August 27 from 1:00 to 7:00 pm, and again on Monday morning from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery when he will once again be beside his loving wife, Ruby.
