Pauline Frances Bourne, age 85, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones. Born in New Albany, Indiana to the late Anthony L. and Nancy Kiesler Glotzbach, Pauline's life was a testament to faith, love, and dedication.
A devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jeffersonville for over 60 years, Pauline's presence was a cornerstone of the church community. She served faithfully as the church secretary for 25 years, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Her commitment extended beyond her duties as she actively participated in senior breakfast gatherings and bible studies, sharing her wisdom and kindness with all.
Pauline's love for her family was rooted in her deep faith. She raised her children in the love and admonition of the Lord, instilling values that will be cherished and carried forward by generations to come. Her home was filled with warmth, love, and the beautiful quilts she meticulously crafted. An accomplished quilter and sewer, her creations were a labor of love, bringing comfort and joy to many.
A 1957 graduate of Oldenburg Academy of the Immaculate Conception, Pauline's talents were multifaceted. She played piano for the school orchestra, showcasing her musical gift and enriching the lives of those around her. She earned her Professional Secretary Certification in 1997.
Pauline's legacy is one of unwavering faith, selfless service, and boundless love. She leaves behind a community forever grateful for her contributions and a family inspired by her example. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 45 years, Ralph William “Bill” Bourne, Jr., and her sister, Sharon Glotzbach.
Survivors include her children, Michael William Bourne, Lawrence Edward Bourne, and Susan Marie Jackson (Glenn); grandchildren, Russell Jackson (Kasey) and William Jackson (Tabby); great-grandson, Colin Jackson; and siblings, Jane Mongin (Matthew), Anthony Glotzbach (Mary Beth), and Patrick Glotzbach (Miriam).
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1840 E 8th Street – Jeffersonville, with burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 5507 New Chapel Road – Jeffersonville. Visitation will be held 2-7 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2024, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway – Jeffersonville.
