Perry Daniel Proctor, age 80, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, Perry was the beloved son of the late James and Mary (Parker) Proctor. Perry served his country with pride and honor. He was a United States Army Veteran and later continued his service as a dedicated member of the Army National Guard of Oklahoma for an additional five years. His commitment to duty and love for his country were defining traits of his life and character.
A skilled mechanic by trade, Perry had a natural talent for fixing things—whether it was an engine or a problem that needed a steady hand and patient mind. He approached every task with quiet confidence and generosity, often lending his abilities to help family, friends, and neighbors. Perry had an eye for a good deal. He enjoyed a fun yard sale, going to auctions, and finding priceless treasures at thrift stores! He also loved his daily personal treat -- CHOCOLATE MILK!! Perry was a man of simplicity and sincerity. He cherished meaningful conversation, time spent outdoors, and the joy of a good day’s work. His gentle spirit, steady presence, and kind heart will be deeply missed.
In keeping with his wishes, Perry was cremated.
Memorial Graveside Services will be held 11 AM on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Eastern Cemetery in Jeffersonville, officiated by Eric Welch of Hamburg Pike Church of Christ. Arrangements have been entrusted to Scott Funeral Home.
Perry’s life was quiet, steady, and faithful—just like the love he shared. Though he has now gone to his eternal rest, his legacy of service and kindness remains in the hearts of those blessed to have known him.
