Philip Mark Castetter was born on November 3, 1954 in Louisville, KY. He passed away on November 2, 2024 in Leavenworth, Indiana after a long battle with debilitating strokes.
Philip grew up in Sellersburg, Indiana and was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He would credit his faith in Jesus to the things he learned later in life about the true character of God by Graham Maxwell. He loved listening to Sabbath School Lessons and sermons online from Pineknoll.com while drinking a homemade smoothie.
He worked for Jewish Hospital in maintenance, patient escort and then in-patient registration until 2001. Philip then started working as a computer tech until his first major stroke in 2004.
Philip enjoyed living in the country with the quiet of nature. He had fond memories of things he did with his dad, such as watching Star Trek and building stereo speakers on which they both enjoyed many hours of music. Music was his passion, especially theater organ, classical music and Southern gospel among other styles. Philip also enjoyed collecting Bibles, religious books and inspirational children’s books.
Philip chose cremation with no services. He will be sorely missed.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Ertel Castetter and Charles E. Castetter. He is survived by his loving wife, Terresa Shull Castetter; children, Matthew A Castetter (Kristin) and Elizabeth M. Mongenel (Randy); grandchild, Lyda Rose Castetter; brother, David Castetter; mother-in-law, Marilyn Shull; father-in-law, Elwin Shull; brother-in-laws, Mark E. Shull and Kurtis D.
