Ralph T. Lee

Ralph T. Lee, age 95, passed away at home surrounded by his family on September 17, 2023.  He was born on July 2, 1928 in New Albany to Thurston and Barbara Lee.

He graduated from New Albany High School in 1946 and Indiana University in 1950.  As a youth and young man he was active in scouting, as a Boy Scout and as a leader, especially appreciating his time at scout camp.  After two years of service in the Army he began his career with GMAC where he served as a credit and a finance manager for 30 years. 

Ralph was devoted to his family and to his church.  He enjoyed planning travels with his young family and then with Marilyn and the Ivy Diggers Camping Club in retirement.   He attended every sports and musical activity of his children and grandchildren often taking leadership roles. 

Ralph was a tireless worker at First Christian Church of Jeffersonville, serving as treasurer for 26 years and then as volunteer building superintendent, especially during the construction of the GRACE Center. 

He is survived by his wife of almost 68 years, Marilyn, his children Joan (Don) Allen, Keith and David Lee, his grandchildren Kelly, Chris (Kelli) and Patrick Allen, and his great-grandsons Trevor and Connor Allen.  He is also survived by his brother-in-law Paul (Judy) Beckort. 

Scott Funeral Home, Veterans Parkway, is entrusted with his care.  The funeral service will be on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 11AM at First Christian Church of Jeffersonville, 3209 Middle Road.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, September 21 from 3-8PM and then at the church on Friday from 10AM until the time of the service.
