Randall William Lemon, age 73, took his final bow on Sunday, February 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy as rich and vibrant as the very words he so masterfully wielded. A man of grand gestures and an even grander spirit, Randall was a true maestro of the English language, a virtuoso of the stage, and an undeniable force in any room he entered.
From the moment he first graced the world, it was clear that Randall was destined for greatness—whether in the hallowed halls of academia, the dazzling glow of the theatre, or at the head of a well-worn Dungeons & Dragons table. For four decades, he ignited the imaginations of his students as a high school English and drama teacher, his powerful voice and commanding presence making even the most reluctant of learners fall in love with literature and performance. He was never content with mere instruction; rather, he summoned the very souls of Shakespeare, Dickens, and Wilde into his classroom, ensuring that every lesson was an experience to be remembered.
A director, performer, and playwright, Randall reveled in the art of storytelling, be it on stage or in the pages of his published works. His theatrical flair was not limited to the spotlight—his children, Corwin and Amber, could surely attest to his penchant for impromptu soliloquies, booming orations at the dinner table, and a dramatic flair that could turn even a mundane grocery store trip into a scene worthy of Broadway. A devoted Roman Catholic, he carried his faith with humility and grace, embodying the virtues of love, kindness, and wisdom in all he did.
The family takes great comfort in knowing Randall has rejoined his parents, Helen and Sam, and his late brother, Ron and brother-in-law, Joe.
But beyond his accolades and accomplishments, Randall’s greatest role was that of a devoted husband, father, Grampy, brother, and friend. For 48 years, he was the steadfast partner of Linda Lemon, their love a tale as timeless and enduring as the classics he so adored. His children, Corwin Lemon (Jaimie) and Amber Lemon-Starling (Keith), were the proud recipients of his boundless love and wisdom, and his grandchildren, Felix and Penelope Lemon-Starling, will carry forward his stories, his laughter, and his unmatched sense of wonder. He also leaves behind his beloved sister, Virginia Sainato, and sister-in-law, Andrea Lemon, who will forever cherish the light he brought into their lives.
In accordance with his wishes, Randall has been cremated, and his family will honor his indelible spirit with a celebration of life at a later date. Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, has been entrusted with arrangements.
Though the curtain has fallen on Randall’s earthly performance, his story—his laughter, his brilliance, and his boundless love—will continue to echo in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. The world was his stage, and he played his part with unparalleled passion. Bravo, Randall. Bravo.
