Raven Sierra Newsome

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Raven Sierra Newsome, who was tragically and suddenly taken from this life on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the tender age of 19. Raven was a radiant, energetic, and beautiful soul whose presence lit up every room she entered.

Born with a creative spirit, Raven was a promising fashion designer known for her remarkable ability to transform even the most mundane materials into fabulous designs. Her artistic vision and passion for fashion were boundless, and she was poised to make a significant mark in the industry.

Raven's love for music was equally compelling, as she effortlessly translated the rhythms of a good beat into her dynamic hip-hop dance moves. She expressed herself with grace and confidence, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of watching her dance.

A 2022 graduate of Silver Creek High School, Raven's future was bright, and her potential was limitless. Though her time with us was far too short, the impact she made on those around her will be cherished forever.

Survivors include her parents, Tabatha Marie and Jonathan Andrew Harris, Sr.; siblings, Elizabeth Bronsfield, Ethan Harris, Isaiah Harris, Michael Harris (Myah); paternal grandparents, Mary Elizabeth and Frederick Wayne Harris, Sr.; aunts and uncles, Royale Lawrence, Natalie Williams, Zane Harris (Laquesha), Kevin Harris (Linda), Frederick Harris Jr. (Sylvia), and Emal Bronsfield; and beloved cousins, Iesha Bronsfield, Amina Harris, Yahna Harris, and Brandon Snydor.

A memorial visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway - Jeffersonville. Following the visitation, a memorial service celebrating Raven's life will take place at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Raven's family and friends invite all who knew and loved her to join in this time of remembrance, where her life, talents, and the joy she brought to the world will be honored and celebrated.
