Rev. Charles Hill Obituary

Rev. Charles R. Hill was born on December 9, 1948 in Carmi, Illinois, to the late Lawrence and Doris Hill. He was the oldest of three children.

He graduated from Norris City-Omaha High School in 1967 where he was a local basketball star. He was awarded scholarships to the University of Tennessee as well as several other universities.

During this time, he received salvation and felt a calling on his life to serve God. Someone suggested that he go to the Christ Gospel Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He left everything, moved to Jeffersonville, and became an ardent student of the WORD of GOD.

While attending the Bible College, he found the love of his life, Debra Lynn Brooks. They were married June 28, 1969. In 1972 they were blessed with a son, Jason Ray and in 1976 a daughter, Julie Anne.

He pastored churches in Minnesota, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma; and preached conventions in South Africa and Mexico.

Charles is preceded in death by his mother, Doris June Hill, his father, Lawrence Hill, and his beloved Aunt Dottie.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Lynn, his children, Jason Ray Hill, and Julie Anne Bush, (Steve) his grandchildren, which were the light of his life, Kelsey ”Piper”, Braeden, Chloe, Camilla, and Bryce Bush. His sister, Sharon Pilkington, brother, Carl Hill, niece Carrie Lynn and her daughter Becca.

Rev. Charles Hill held the line, fought a good fight, kept the faith, and finished his journey in Tulsa Oklahoma on August 26,2021.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, family and thousands of friends around the world.
